Laura Maver Ward, Founder and President of Kingsbridge Capital Partners, is an accomplished entrepreneur and businesswoman with 40 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, management consulting, executive coaching, manufacturing and business services. During the course of her career, Laura has advised hundreds of business owners on mergers and acquisitions, financial advisory issues and business growth strategies.

As a fourth generation business owner and a seasoned business owner herself, Laura is passionate about helping business owners meet their personal, business and financial goals. Laura also works closely with a select group of private equity investors and entrepreneurs to help them design and implement successful targeted acquisition programs.

Laura also spent 16 years at Hallmark Cards, Inc. in the areas of quality control, production management, manufacturing, procurement, and marketing. During her tenure at Hallmark, Laura developed and implemented a key supplier program and implemented a minority and women-owned procurement program. Laura received Hallmark's prestigious Minority Supplier Partnership Award, in recognition of her efforts to develop and grow the Minority Supplier Program.

Laura is a sought after speaker, author, educator and facilitator. She was a founding member and executive board member of the Women's Capital Connection, an angel fund dedicated to providing funding and mentoring to women business owners. Laura is a Past President of the Kansas City chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners. Because of Laura's efforts to promote business owners, especially women owned business owners, Laura was awarded the 2008 Joan Strewler-Carter Women of Influence Award and the 2011 Women Who Mean Business Award from the Kansas City Business Journal. Laura has made significant contributions to the M&A Source, an international association comprised of over 470 lower middle-market M&A advisors. These contributions resulted in three prestigeous awards. In 2018, Laura was awarded the M&A Source Chairman's Award; in 2019 she was awarded the M&A Source Leadership Award; also in 2019, Laura was awarded the distinguished Fellow of The M&A Source.

Laura believes in helping others and giving back. She has served as a board member and/or committee member for a number of organizations, including the M & A Source, Women’s Capital Connection, Truman Medical Center TruFriends, The Women's Foundation of Greater Kansas City, The Central Exchange, Downey Side Adoption Agency, Wayside Waifs, Barstow School and The Pembroke Hill School. For ten years, Laura served as a volunteer facilitator at The Central Exchange, where she has helped over one hundred entrepreneurs improve their business results through the Entrepreneurs Resource Group. 

Beginning in 2014 Laura served as Membership Chair of the M&A Source. Beginning in 2016 she was elected and has served on the Board of Governors of M&A Source, was Chair-Elect in 2018, Chairperson in 2019 and is currently the Immediate Past Chairperson. M & A Source is an international association comprised of over 470 lower middle-market M&A advisors with a mission to provide high level mergers and acquisitions education in order to support members to best serve their clients with the highest degree of knowledge, experience and integrity. 

Laura was born and raised in Westchester County, NY and Nantucket Island, MA. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Rochester Institute of Technology, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.  Laura has earned certifications as a Mergers & Acquisitions Master Intermediary (M&AMI), (a certification held by only 129 intermediaries world-wide), Business Intermediary (CBI), Mergers & Acquisitions Professional (CMAP),  Exit Planner (CExP), Business Coach (CBC), Machinery & Equipment Appraiser, as well as a number of corporate and individual assessments. She is also a Licensed Real Estate Broker-Officer.

Laura and her husband Jim live in the Kansas City metro area. In her spare time, Laura enjoys spending time with her family,  traveling, gardening, boating, good books, and movies. Walking the beach is her favorite past time, however that's a challenge when you live in the MIdwest!
